21 September, World Alzheimer’s Day

The 21st of September each year has been declared World Alzheimer’s Day, one of the most common diseases today and also one of the most feared worldwide. Alzheimer’s consists of the loss of brain function by people who suffer it, something that affects language, memory, memories, mobility … in short to all those capabilities provided by our brain. Neurons gradually stop functioning and lose their connections with the rest of the neurons until, finally, they die. This disease causes a very important degree of degeneration with the passage of time and ends up turning the person who suffers it into someone totally dependent. Today we are going to learn a little more about this disease in honor of all those who suffer from it and their families who, in silence, must fight Alzheimer’s disease.
