You know that feeling, of being so excited, that your bladder gets too full? If you’re on the subway or commuter train it can be tricky, since there aren’t usually any toilets around. Why? There are actually many questions about the subway that have not yet been answered… Here we go.

How come the streets and buildings don’t collapse underground on the subway? You’d think a huge hole under your feet would collapse sooner or later. But somehow it doesn’t. That’s because subway tunnels use supports that don’t allow the ground above them to collapse. The supports are usually made of concrete and are complemented by metal bracelets for extra safety.
